Helping You Build Your Future!

Thousands of students have graduated from Penn Commercial Business/Technical School over the past 85 years and have gone on to enjoy success in their field of choice. Our dedicated Career Services Department is committed to helping our graduates accomplish their professional goals.

You’ll find Penn Commercial alumni throughout Pennsylvania succeeding in a wide range of fields. They form a valuable network to their fellow alums, to recent graduates, and to current students hoping to one day join their ranks. In fact, in just the past five years alone, 543 Penn Commercial graduates have gone to work for 338 local employers! At Penn Commercial, our focus is on your success.

Job Placement Assistance

Since we’ve been around for more than 85 years, we have solid connections with employers in business, industry, technology, trades, medical, and salon and spa. While we can’t guarantee your placement (no school can), we couple those connections with services including job fairs, resume assistance, job listings, interviewing workshops, employment newsletters, and externships. For a sample of just a few of the local employers we partner with, please click here.

Externships

At Penn Commercial, our focus is on providing hands-on training that will prepare you for life on the job. Our externship program provides valuable hands-on training in real-world professional settings. Most of our programs require the completion of an externship, and we’ll help locate a work site that is a good fit for your career goals. Externships also are a great way to make professional connections that can lead to full-time employment after you graduate.

Alumni Events and Services

From our alumni newsletter, to alumni events and activities, to featuring alums and telling their stories of success, it’s clear that as a graduate of Penn Commercial, we’ll take great pride in you and your accomplishments. We love it when our alums update their information and tell us what they’re doing out there in the world, and we’re always here if you need anything, such as a transcript request. You can read success stories from a few of our Penn Commercial graduates here!

Definition of Placement

ACCSC applies the following definition of placement to outcomes reported by member institutions:

Placed based upon job titlesAny graduate or completer of a program that was placed based upon job titles included in the list of job titles published by the institution for which the program prepares students. These job titles must be those published by the institution on its web site in compliance with USDOE Title IV regulations and must be identified in the Department’s CIP-to-SOC Crosswalk (Standard Occupational Classification, U.S. Department of Labor) with the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code of this program.

OR

Placed based upon the required use of skills: Any graduate or completer of a program that was placed based upon the required use of skills learned in the student’s program as a predominant component of the job. These skills must be those listed in the institution’s published program description and a majority of these skills must be documented in the employer’s job description as required or desired skills, duties or responsibilities.

OR

Placed based upon the benefit of the training: Any graduate or completer of a program that was placed based upon the benefit of the training received from the program in obtaining a new position or maintaining a current position, supporting promotion or improving job related skills.

ACCSC calculates placement rates as follows:

(Placed by job title + Placed by skills + Placed by benefit of training)
